We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant (SHCA) to join our day team in Sheffield. As an SHCA, you will be leading your team of Healthcare Assistants, ensuring all members of your team are providing person-centered care of the highest standard. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

Lead, mentor, and support a team of Healthcare Assistants on each shift, ensuring duties are delegated effectively and care standards are consistently met. Act as the primary point of contact for junior staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

Person-Centered Care

Deliver individualized care that respects each resident's dignity, preferences, and unique needs. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families, ensuring emotional wellbeing is prioritized alongside physical health.

Training & Development

Support the induction and ongoing training of new team members. Identify skills gaps and work with management to arrange appropriate training sessions, ensuring the entire team remains competent and confident in their roles.

Coordination of Care

Liaise with nurses, GPs, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate seamless care. Ensure care plans are followed accurately and updated as residents' needs evolve.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate, timely records of care delivered, incidents, and observations. Ensure all documentation complies with CQC standards and internal policies, contributing to a culture of transparency and accountability.

Quality Assurance

Participate in audits, quality checks, and continuous improvement initiatives. Proactively identify areas for enhancement in care delivery and contribute to implementing solutions that elevate the resident experience.

Communication

Facilitate clear, compassionate communication between residents, families, and the care team. Lead handover meetings and ensure critical information is relayed accurately between shifts to maintain continuity of care.
